In the middle of Japan
A city where culture is born
Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture

Located halfway between Tokyo and Osaka, 90 minutes from each by Shinkansen. Located exactly in the center of Japan, it is an ideal city with access to railways, expressways, and air routes. Surrounded by the sea to the south and mountains to the north, Hamamatsu is also known as one of Japan's leading "manufacturing cities."

The "Yaramaika spirit" - a spirit of boldly trying anything and everything - is deeply rooted in the city, and it has created numerous "manufacturing industries." Its history dates back to the Edo period, and it is a city of technology where many companies have developed and accumulated in line with the times, including cotton textiles and lumber, the three major industries of modern times - textiles, musical instruments, and transportation equipment, and more recently, cutting-edge technology industries such as optical technology and electronic technology.
