A transportation hub overlooking Lake Hamana

Yutome Town is a strategic location connecting Lake Hamana and the Enshu Plain.
Due to its geographical location where water and land routes intersect, it has developed since ancient times as a transportation hub where people and goods come and go. Lake traffic and road traffic have supported the local economy and cultural exchange.

The Nakamura family residence, which still retains the image of a distinguished family

The Nakamura Family Residence, a nationally designated important cultural property, is a historic building that represents Yuto Town.
This is a prestigious family that has been around since the Kamakura period, and served as a magistrate during the Edo period.

■ The legend of Emperor Yamato Takeru and Kanayama Tenjin Shrine

When discussing the origin of the name of Yutomi Town, it is essential to mention the legend of Yamato Takeru. It is said that the name "Obumi" was born from the story of when Emperor Yamato Takeru set foot in this area during his expedition to the east, and that this is how the area was once called.

The shrine that has been loved as the local guardian deity continues to pass on this tradition to the present day.Kanayama Tenjin Shrine.

In the past, these shrines were used to pray for safe journeys and safe wars, and today they are carefully preserved as places of prayer for health and prosperity as well as for the daily lives of the local community.
